Dream Gurlz Institute of Excellence Mentoring program, also known as D.G.I.E. is an empowerment and enrichment program for young ladies in grades 6th-12th in Edgecombe County Schools. DGIE is geared toward inspiring and enriching the lives of young girls in our community. The young ladies will participate in monthly leadership workshops, group and individual mentoring, community service projects, college preparatory workshops, bonding activities, cultural and social

outings and events.

The DGIE girls have been involved with several volunteer opportunities; Relay For Life, Vidant's Blue Ribbon Family Event & College Round Up, just to name a few. They also took part in our very first Career Day in March 2015. We had 14 career professionals present and 150 teenage participants and parents. The career professionals gave insight to the participants about getting started in their career.
